Celebrating Pearl Yip and Felicia Chia‘s outstanding achievements at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore.
At Indotutors, nothing makes us happier than seeing our students grow in confidence and achieve their goals. We are delighted to celebrate the success of two of our students, Pearl Yip and Felicia Chia, who both won first place in the Bahasa Indonesia Speech and Storytelling Competition organised by the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore (KBRI Singapura) as part of the celebration of Indonesia’s Independence Day. The competition brought together Bahasa Indonesia learners from different backgrounds, giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their language skills, confidence and appreciation of Indonesian culture.
Congratulations to Our Winners!
🏆 Pearl Yip
Champion – Bahasa Indonesia Speech Contest
Speech Theme: Kreativitas dan Semangat Melawan Pandemi Global
(Creativity and the Spirit of Overcoming the Global Pandemic)
Pearl impressed the judges with her confident delivery and well-prepared speech. She spoke clearly, shared her ideas thoughtfully, and demonstrated just how far she had progressed in her Bahasa Indonesia learning journey.
🏆 Felicia Chia
Champion – Indonesian Folktale Storytelling Contest
Felicia won the storytelling category with her captivating retelling of the famous Indonesian folktale Sangkuriang, the legendary story behind Mount Tangkuban Perahu in West Java. Through expressive storytelling, clear pronunciation and confident stage presence, she brought this well-loved legend to life, capturing the attention of both the judges and the audience.
A Moment Worth Celebrating
Winning a language competition takes more than learning vocabulary and grammar. It requires dedication, regular practice, confidence and the courage to speak in front of an audience. Pearl and Felicia worked hard to prepare for the competition, and their achievements are a wonderful reward for their efforts.
At Indotutors, we encourage our students to use Bahasa Indonesia beyond the classroom. Taking part in competitions and cultural events gives learners the chance to apply what they have learned, challenge themselves and grow as confident speakers.
We are incredibly proud of Pearl and Felicia for representing Indotutors so well. Their achievements are an inspiration to other learners who are beginning their own Bahasa Indonesia journey.
Congratulations once again, Pearl and Felicia! We wish you continued success and look forward to seeing what you achieve next.
