Sally

As a native Bahasa Indonesia speaker with over 20 years of teaching experience, Sally is the Founder and Principal Trainer of Indotutors, a specialist Bahasa Indonesia language centre in Singapore. Since 2003, she has helped professionals, students, business owners and individual learners from diverse backgrounds build practical Bahasa Indonesia skills for business, work, examinations, travel and everyday communication.

A certified trainer holding the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA), Sally combines proven adult learning principles with extensive teaching experience to deliver lessons that are practical, engaging and relevant to each learner’s goals. Over the years, she has designed and conducted Bahasa Indonesia training programmes for professionals from multinational corporations, government agencies, educational institutions and SMEs across a wide range of industries.

Sally believes that language is best learned through meaningful communication rather than memorisation. Her lessons incorporate practical conversations, real-life scenarios, cultural insights and interactive activities that help learners build confidence and communicate naturally in Bahasa Indonesia. Known for her patient and encouraging teaching style, she creates a supportive learning environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their language skills with confidence.

Committed to delivering high-quality language education, Sally continually reviews and enhances Indotutors’ curriculum and teaching materials to ensure they remain practical, relevant and effective. With an academic background in Computer Studies, she also integrates technology and digital learning tools to enrich both classroom and online learning, providing learners with an engaging and effective learning experience.

Elmida

Elmida

Elmida is a native Bahasa Indonesia speaker with extensive experience teaching Indonesian to learners from diverse backgrounds in Singapore. She holds a degree in Teacher Training and Education (English) from Widya Mandala Catholic University, Surabaya, Indonesia, and received professional training in Preschool Teaching from Modern Montessori International, Singapore.

Since relocating to Singapore in 2006, Elmida has been delivering Bahasa Indonesia training for learners in both the private and public sectors, including at a local university. She is also actively involved in developing learning materials that support Indotutors’ practical and learner-centred approach. Known for her warm, patient, and engaging teaching style, Elmida creates a supportive environment that helps learners build confidence and communicate naturally in Bahasa Indonesia.

Fenny

Fenny graduated from Tarumanegara University, Jakarta, in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, majoring in Accountancy. After relocating to Singapore with her Singaporean husband and two children, she pursued her long-standing passion for education and completed a Certificate in Early Childhood Education from RTRC Asia in 2008.

Teaching has always been close to Fenny’s heart. With extensive experience teaching learners of different ages and backgrounds, she is committed to creating lessons that are engaging, interactive, and enjoyable. Her patient and encouraging approach helps students build confidence while learning Bahasa Indonesia in a comfortable and supportive environment.

Deeply connected to her Indonesian heritage, Fenny enjoys sharing not only the Indonesian language but also the country’s rich culture and traditions with her students. She believes that language learning is most meaningful when it is accompanied by cultural understanding, making her lessons both practical and enriching.

Throughout her teaching career, Fenny has conducted classes for individuals, groups, and corporate clients. Her professional experience also includes holding management and administrative positions, equipping her with strong organisational and communication skills. Friendly, dedicated, and always willing to go the extra mile, Fenny strives to ensure every student enjoys a rewarding and successful learning experience.

Imelda

Imelda graduated from Satya Wacana Christian University with a major in English Pedagogy and Literature. Before relocating to Singapore in 2009, she taught English for 12 years in her hometown of Surabaya, Indonesia.

Since moving to Singapore, Imelda has been teaching Bahasa Indonesia part-time, sharing her native language and culture with students of all ages. She enjoys creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can build confidence and develop practical communication skills.

In addition to her language teaching experience, Imelda obtained a Master of Education (Early Childhood) from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Since 2011, she has been working full-time in the early childhood education sector, further strengthening her expertise in effective teaching and learner development.

Farina

Farina graduated from the State University of Medan (UNIMED), Indonesia, with a Bachelor’s degree in English Education in 2007 and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics in 2011.

With a strong academic background in language education, Farina began her teaching career in English before moving to Singapore in 2011. Since then, she has been teaching Bahasa Indonesia to secondary school students, working professionals, and corporate clients.

In addition to her teaching experience, Farina worked as a translator for a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Aceh, Indonesia, where she further developed her language and cross-cultural communication skills.

Farina is a dynamic and easy-going teacher who believes that learning should be both enjoyable and effective. She creates interactive and engaging lessons tailored to her students’ learning needs and goals. Friendly, patient, and approachable, she is committed to helping every student gain confidence and develop practical communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia.

Ari

Ari

Ari is a native Indonesian speaker who graduated from the State University of Malang with a degree in Indonesian Language and Literature. He has been teaching Bahasa Indonesia to foreign learners since 2009.

During his time at university, Ari participated in the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program, a collaboration between the State University of Malang and the American Councils for International Education, where he gained valuable experience teaching Indonesian to international students.

In 2017, Ari had the opportunity to teach Bahasa Indonesia abroad as a Language Assistant in Melbourne, Australia, working with both public and private schools. Passionate about language education, he enjoys developing effective teaching materials and creating engaging lessons that make learning both interesting and enjoyable. With his professional yet approachable teaching style, Ari is committed to helping students build confidence and communicate effectively in Bahasa Indonesia.
